Olympic shooter explains why he doesn’t need specialist equipment after turning up and winning silver
Turkish athlete Yusuf Dikeç caused a stir when he arrived at the shooting event without any specialized equipment. Despite the absence of gear typically used by competitors, such as specialized eyewear and headphones, Yusuf managed to make an impression at the 10-meter air pistol event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. While some athletes, like South Korea’s Kim Yeji, sported serious-looking eyeglasses, Yusuf opted for a more minimalist approach, only wearing earplugs to block out distracting noises.
