On July 31, the beloved Gossip Girl star revealed the introduction of her haircare line, Blake Brown Beauty.
It’s worth mentioning that the brand doesn’t bear Lively’s usual name, causing some confusion – even for her husband.
Expressing his admiration for Lively’s new venture on Instagram, Reynolds shared on his Story: “I’m incredibly proud of this woman. She’s dedicated 7 years to @blakebrownbeauty. The outcome reflects her hyper-obsessive, detail-oriented, unwavering commitment to quality.”
Commenting on the brand name, Reynolds humorously added: “By the way, I just discovered that her surname is Brown.”
Although Lively’s actual last name isn’t Brown, it could have been, technically speaking.
Lively’s parents, Ernie and Elaine Lively, got married in 1979. When they tied the knot, Ernie adopted Elaine’s surname and replaced it with his former name of Brown. Unfortunately, Ernie passed away in 2021 at the age of 74 due to heart complications. After Reynolds’ comments about only recently discovering Lively’s ‘real name’, she clarified it to her 45 million Instagram followers. “Brown is my dad’s last name,” she wrote. “He took Lively from my mom & older siblings.” Hinting that the Deadpool star should do the same, Lively remarked: “Now that I think about it, Ryan Lively has a nice ring to it.”
Blake Brown Beauty marks the actress’s second entrepreneurial endeavor; she introduced her soft drink brand, Betty Buzz, in 2021, followed by the launch of her canned cocktail line, Betty Booze, two years later. Reynolds has also established himself as a prominent business figure, owning several enterprises. Among these are Aviation American Gin, the production company Maximum Effort, and the Welsh soccer club Wrexham AFC. It is estimated that the high-profile couple has a combined net worth of approximately $400 million.
