Kevin Hill expressed that his journey led him to ‘reassess’ his priorities. A man battling a severe illness recounted his experience of entering a ‘tranquil spiritual realm’ after being revived from death. Kevin Hill, hailing from Derbyshire in the UK, first noticed a health issue in 2021 when he experienced swelling in his legs due to fluid retention. Despite informing doctors about his symptoms, he struggled to find answers until he secured an appointment at the coronary unit in Derby. Within hours, he was admitted to the hospital, marking the beginning of what would turn into a ‘year-long stay’ at the medical facility.
“They prescribed medication to alleviate the water retention. Once it subsided, I was informed that I had shed 65kg of water weight,” he recounted. Following a heart surgery, Kevin developed calciphylaxis, a rare and severe condition characterized by the buildup of calcium in small blood vessels, as well as in fat and skin tissues. Kevin’s significant health challenges began when necrotic skin, resulting from blistering, began to consume his healthy skin, leaving him in excruciating pain. Ultimately, he experienced severe blood loss, losing five pints, which led to his heart stopping.
