Harrison Ford, aged 81, received a big award at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards for his amazing career in action-packed movies. The audience gave him a standing ovation, and he expressed happiness about the opportunities in the film industry today. He thanked writers, directors, and filmmakers who contributed to his success, emphasizing his gratitude and feeling lucky.


Ford, acknowledging his wife Calista Flockhart’s support, got emotional during his speech. The director of his movie “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” James Mangold, compared Ford to a “hypergiant star” because of his immense impact on the film industry.
Mangold highlighted Ford’s roles in various films like American Graffiti, Blade Runner, and Air Force One. He praised Ford’s characters as unforgettable and genuinely human. Ford, with a career spanning five decades, played iconic roles in Star Wars and Indiana Jones, grossing nearly $10 billion worldwide.


In 2023, Ford received a lifetime achievement award at the Cannes Film Festival for his work in the new Indiana Jones movie. Despite the applause and positive reception, he remained humble.

Ford, who starred in the Apple TV+ show “Shrinking” and the Yellowstone spinoff “1923,” expressed his love for acting in a recent interview. He mentioned enjoying making movies even more now and has no plans to retire.

The movie “Barbie” received 18 nominations, while “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things” earned 13 nominations each.
