Keanu Reeves Thinks ‘We’d Freakin’ Knock It Out of the Park’ With ‘Speed 3,’ Sandra Bullock Says ‘Keanu and I Need to’ Act Together Again ‘Before I Die’

During a recent appearance on the “50 MPH” podcast, Reeves expressed his enthusiasm for the possibility of working with Bullock again, stating, “We would definitely excel at it.”
Bullock, on the other hand, emphasized the unique chemistry they share on screen, saying, “There’s no specific formula. It just happens naturally.” She also joked about the idea of collaborating again, suggesting, “Maybe we’ll be in wheelchairs or on scooters at Disneyland.”

Reeves echoed her sentiments, mentioning a sense of unfinished business in their partnership, stating, “There’s a certain allure to it, like there’s more to explore.” He concluded by expressing his desire to reunite on screen, saying, “I would be thrilled to work with you again before it’s too late.”
As for the possibility of a “Speed 3” collaboration, only time will tell. Bullock was the sole returning cast member for the ill-fated sequel “Speed 2: Cruise Control” in 1997, which was met with poor reviews and disappointing box office results.
Bullock showed her embarrassment about being a part of it during an interview with TooFab in 2022.
During the same interview, she mentioned that she didn’t receive any positive feedback from fans except for the interviewer.

On the other hand, Reeves declined the opportunity to star in “Speed 2” due to his dissatisfaction with the screenplay. In a conversation with Graham Norton in 2021, he explained that although he wanted to work with Bullock and enjoyed his role in the first film, the concept of an ocean liner didn’t resonate with him at the time.
However, during their reunion on the “50 MPH” podcast, which delves into the making of “Speed,” both Reeves and Bullock agreed that their on-screen chemistry effortlessly came together in the action-packed thriller.
Reeves expressed, “We shared a deep affection. The bond between Jack and Annie is distinct from that of Sandra and Keanu, but we complemented each other and had a great time. Moreover, we had a sense of trust in one another, didn’t we?”

“Yeah, exactly. It’s interesting how in movies, people can have intense affairs and yet lack any real connection. On the other hand, characters can despise each other on screen, and it comes across as electric,” Bullock remarked. “In this movie, we hardly even looked at each other, maybe just three or four times, because we were constantly battling the elements. And I think that’s what made it so captivating, the desire to see them connect. It was a clever setup to keep them apart, like foreplay, I suppose.”
“But with Keanu, I felt completely at ease,” she continued. “There was nothing I couldn’t attempt or say that he wouldn’t have supported me in doing or saying. That level of trust is rare among actors. Whenever I threw something his way, he effortlessly returned it, and that’s when you realize, ‘Okay, he’s my partner.'”
